This means that at some moments of the year, like exam season, or result time, the portal is inundated with requests beyond what it can handle, resulting in the all too familiar time out error.
I have spent many hours refreshing those pages simply to assist students in getting their updates. The author and well-wisher in me has just one suggestion: patience is key in this case. Also, having the precise clicks you need in advance can help you avoid the unnecessary clicks, hoax sites, and misleading links. Now, let’s explore the official ways.
Part 1: Downloading the DU SOL Exam Date Sheet Online
The Date Sheet is your guiding map. Without it, you roam without direction. DU SOL generally first publishes a ‘Tentative Date Sheet’ and then publishes the ‘Final Date Sheet’. You should trust the Final Date Sheet. The confusion in checking and downloading the Date Sheet should be no more with the following steps:
- Go to the Official Website: DU SOL has its very own website and as is the case with all official university websites, you help yourself to the peace of mind you deserve by ensuring you are on the authentic university domain (sol.du.ac.in).
- Find the ‘Important Notices’ Section: Half of the time all it takes is to directly check or scan the ticker(s) that run across or are located in the middle, or the top right portion of your homepage.
- Look for the Date Sheet: A link is generally titled with your specific Course/Academic Year (Final Date Sheet for B.A. / B.Com Exams, for example). Click on that.
- Pick Your Course: You will be directed to a page that contains links to multiple PDFs. Exercise caution in this step and choose the PDF that is for your specific course (B.A. Program Part I/II/III, for example).
- Download and Print: The PDF will open in a different tab on your device. However, I suggest downloading this document to your device and printing it out. Having exam dates written out on a sheet and then being able to highlight them seems more organized to me.
Decoding the Date Sheet (Important Tips)
I’ll give you guys another exam sheet date prep tip and you can thank me later: don’t just glance at the exam subjects. Students often prepare for the incorrect exam because exam subjects are worded similarly. Always verify the Unique Paper Code (UPC) associated with the exam subject. A UPC is a subject-specific alphanumeric code. Match the UPC on your payment receipt/admit card to the UPC on the exam date sheet. If the UPCs are the same, you’re all set!
Part 2: DU SOL Result – Checking Online Like a Pro
You’ve sat through the exams. You’ve waited for what feels like forever. “Results are out!” are the words that start the real panic. What follows is a flooded WhatsApp group, website crashes and disappearing links. I’ll help you check your DU SOL Exam Date Sheet and Result in a much more efficient way.
- Marksheet Link: Instead of searching around the links on the homepage, head directly to the ‘Marksheet / Results’ section on the student dashboard.
- Have Your Details Ready: Don’t just sit there searching for your ID card after the page loads. You should have the following written in a notepad: your SOL Roll Number, Exam Roll Number and DOB.
This is How Marks are Issued:
- Roll Number Entry: There is a specific protocol for entries. For example, your SOL Roll Number requires the dashes (00-0-00-000000). If one dash is omitted, it will come up as Record Not Found.
- Year Selection: Please select the year of examination from the dropdown list.
- Final Step: Click on Show after you have filled the information correctly. Your digital mark sheet will be displayed on the screen.
Server Crashes: If the page indicates Service Unavailable or continues to load without end, do not repeatedly refresh the page. Close the tab, then wait for 2-3 hours. The Server is frequently less busy in the early hours around 6 AM and late at night. Try checking then for a more pleasant experience.
Marks Abbreviations Explained
If you download your results only to discover a string of badly constructed English, fear not. I receive many inquiries of this nature, so I have compiled the answers here for your convenience.

Addressing Marksheet Discrepancy
There are a few glitches, and one of the worst ones is that despite your best efforts, you are marked absent or fail by two marks. The university records that you are present, but due to their administrative glitches, you might not get your due marks. Here is the action plan:
The first thing you should do is not delay. The university gives you a short time period, usually 15-20 days post the declaration of results, to apply for re-evaluation or re-checking so you can’t afford to waste time. Log into your dashboard, fill in the re-evaluation form, and pay the fee. If you were marked absent and you were present, go to the college where you gave your exams, get the attendance sheet you signed, and deliver it to the main SOL branch in North Delhi. They will do the needful.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will I get a physical hard copy of my result?
A: Not really. Your result in the form of a digital mark sheet is valid and will be available on the portal. After you complete your degree, you can collect your degree certificate.
Q: Why does my ‘DU SOL Exam Date Sheet & Result’ page display ‘Record Not Found’?
A: This is a common error and there are three usual explanations: one, you may have entered the SOL roll number in the incorrect format (i.e. without dashes), two, you may have selected the incorrect year from the dropdown menu, or three, the results for your course have not been declared yet, despite what others may say.
Q: Does DU SOL declare results for all courses on the same day?
A: Not really. Based on my experience, results for B.Com (Hons) and B.A. (Hons) courses are declared first. Then results for B.Com Program are declared and finally results for the B.A. Program (which has the highest number of students) are declared. Just because one of your friends received their results, does not mean you have received yours too.
