Pomodoro Study Timer
Run focused study sessions, take planned breaks and track completed sessions while this page remains open.
Start a focus session
Ready for a focus session.
Timer settings
No login or storage is used. Closing or refreshing the page resets the timer and totals. Keep the tab open; background browser restrictions can delay the sound, but the displayed time recalculates from the clock.
How to use the Pomodoro study timer
- Set a realistic focus duration and break lengths.
- Choose Start and work on one clearly defined task.
- Pause when genuinely necessary; avoid using pauses as repeated distractions.
- When focus ends, take the suggested short or long break.
- Return and start the next focus round manually.
- Adjust the durations if 25 minutes does not fit your subject or attention needs.
Make focus sessions useful
A timer creates structure, but it does not choose the right work. Before pressing Start, write one concrete outcome such as “revise Unit 3 notes” or “solve five practice questions.” Put unrelated tabs and the phone aside where practical.
Use breaks for water, movement or rest rather than starting an activity that is difficult to stop. After several rounds, take the longer break. If the task requires deep concentration, a 40–60 minute focus period may suit you better than the traditional 25-minute interval.
The completed-minute figure uses your planned focus duration for sessions that finish naturally. Skipped or reset sessions are not counted. It measures timer completion, not learning quality or academic progress.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Pomodoro study session?
It is a timed focus period followed by a short break. After several focus rounds, a longer break is used.
Must I use 25-minute focus sessions?
No. You can set 1–120 focus minutes. Choose a duration that supports focused work without encouraging exhaustion.
Will the timer work in the background?
The remaining time is recalculated when the tab resumes, but browsers may delay intervals or sound in the background. Keep the page open and do not use it as a critical alarm.
Does skipping a focus session count as completed?
No. Only focus periods that reach zero naturally are added to the completed-session and focus-minute totals.
Does the timer save my progress?
No. Settings and totals remain only for the current open page and reset when it is refreshed or closed.
